Alan Goh was born in Malaysia on February 12, 1964. He and his younger brothers, Victor and Jeff, lived in Malaysia and Singapore until 1976 when his family immigrated to the United States. His parents, the Rev. Kim Chuan and Judy Goh, ministered to the Chinese community in the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan.
Alan graduated from the University of Victoria in 1987 with a major in Geography. While on a church-planting mission in Taiwan, he accepted God’s call to fulltime pastoral ministry and returned from Asia to enroll in Tyndale Seminary. He
graduated in 1991 with a major in Youth Ministry and went on to complete his theological training at Knox College.
Alan served his home church, Markham Chinese Presbyterian Church, until1993 when he was ordained by the Presbytery
of Oak Ridges. He moved West to take up his first charge as Associate Minister at St. Andrew’s, Calgary. In 1996,
Alan returned to Toronto and enjoyed a warm, five year association with the English ministry at Toronto Korean Presbyterian Church. In 2001, Alan was reunited with his
home congregation and faithfully served the English Ministry there for nine years.
This call to Celebration Presbyterian Church is the culmination of Alan’s ministry passion which is to empower the second generation to be the next generation church.
